Starting Again – My 2024 Challenge

I’m not a big fan of events such as Bloganuary. However, as I saw today’s question about biggest challenges, the idea of starting again immediately came to mind.

Starting again will mean re reading some books I should have already reviewed

First off, I’m starting again in my ministry life. I’m returning to Holy Trinity, this time as priest-in-charge, on a term basis. This means my focus will be different from when I was previously here as priest-missioner. I’ll have more administrative duties along with being the lead person for preaching, etc.

I am looking forward to this, as I love working in downtown Winnipeg. Holy Trinity is the parish I entered the priesthood from, and it holds a very dear place in my heart.

Starting Again in Blogging Land

In one sense, I have been blogging over the last few months. In other, it hasn’t been anywhere frequently enough. Since the end of July, I have posted 9 original posts, and another 4 which are updates of old posts. That’s about one every 11 or 12 days.

However, it’s no the number of posts I’ve written that I wish to change. Certainly more posts help build readership. What has eluded me is an ability to focus on the themes that I talked about when I started up Common Eating.

I’ve done a lot of reading over the last few months. As the caption below the photo at the top of this post suggest, I haven’t really ended up putting many thoughts to blog.

This is maybe the biggest challenge for me when it comes to starting again. Before I’m able to write things down, there are many books that I will need to go back and re-read. Some of them I do have quite a few notes on(if I can find them), but even with that, I will need to make the effort to start reading again.

I don’t if attempting to do this qualifies as a New Year’s resolution, but I hope that is a challenge that I welcome fully in the next several months.
